Our History

Goodwill Financial Services began providing financial advice in 1991 and became a limited company in 2006.

Having advised clients now for more than a quarter of a century, we are well placed to help people realise their monetary goals, manage financial risks, reduce unnecessary taxation, acquire their homes and build their personal wealth.

We have three professionally qualified advisers with more than 100 years worth of experience in the financial services industry between them, with our newest adviser having joined us in 2022 and the adviser before that joining in 2000.

Even the latest member of our administration team has been with us since 2002, so you can see that there is a strong ethos of loyalty and continuity both to our clients and the business.

Many of our clients have been with us for 20+ years with some having been with us since we started. We are loyal to our clients and our clients are loyal to us. That’s the way we like it.

We often look after whole families covering three or even four generations, maintaining continuity and confidence in the professional relationship.

Goodwill Financial Services have been regulated from day one and have worked under five regulators since 1991. The various regulators may have come and gone, but we are still here. We are authorised and regulated by the Financial Conduct Authority (FCA).

In 2006, after significant research, we changed our methods and processes and introduced a specialist investment strategy using model portfolios designed by us for the benefit of our clients. Since then we have increased the number of investors within the service  to more than 800 individuals, managing more than £115 million on their behalf.

We have embraced the latest technology in providing the best investment experiences for our clients and continue to develop as new and appropriate technologies emerge.

We work closely with the academic community to make sure the latest developments in investment science are available for our clients benefit.

Not only do we hold the necessary professional qualifications but we maintain our professional standards by continuing study and development under our training and competence regime. As an authorised and regulated firm, we are covered by professional indemnity insurance to protect our clients.

We believe that we have been successful over the years in developing new client relationships and retaining existing clients because of our professional approach, our unique investment system,  our personal and friendly manner as well as our low charges.

We do not advertise and our clients typically come to us through existing client referrals or introduction by other professionals such as Accountants and Solicitors.
